Ondeh-ondeh is one of the traditional kuih in Malaysia (kuih is term for Malaysian cakes or pastries. They are originally from Melaka and either made from sweet potato or glutinous rice flour.
Ondeh-ondeh filled in grated coconut and gula melaka (a palm sugar). The green bit is a glutinous rice flour mixed with sweet potato and flavoured with pandan (screwpine).
The cute little onde-onde–also spelled as onde-onde or ‘buah Melaka’ because it looks like Melaka tree fruits. Ondeh-ondeh rolled in with some fresh grated coconut. The palm sugar that’s in it literally bursts in your mouth when you take a bite. They are sweet and very delicious.
