Info: Bukit Katil

Masjid Bukit Katil

Tahukah anda tentang sejarah dan asal usul nama Bukit Katil? Pembukaan awal kampung berkenaan mempunyai keistimewaan tersendiri. Menurut Sidang Kampung Bukit Katil, Abdul Ghani Maarof, 63, beliau mengetahui sejarah awal pembukaan kampung berkenaan berdasarkan cerita yang disampaikan 'orang-orang tua' di situ secara turun-temurun mengenai asal usul nama berkenaan.

Berdasarkan cerita disampaikan, penduduk terdahulu dikatakan menemui batil emas (bekas simpanan air) seperti labu sayong yang terletak di atas batu berbentuk seakan katil di atas puncak bukit di situ (bukit terletak bersebelahan Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Dato' Demang Hussin).

Rumah Melaka (Pusat Perkayuan Negeri Melaka)

The indigenous people of Peninsular Malaysia are called ‘Orang Asli’ or aborigines. Malaysian Government introduced the phase ‘Orang Asli’ in the 1950s referring to small cluster of people who live deep in the Malaysian rain forest.

The element of magic and ritual (pagan) are famous in their culture making this ‘Orang Asli’ called a primitive. They also believe in forest or nature spirit where all daily activities must be blessed by the spirits or if not they will be cursed for their whole life.

In reality we may say they are poor and lag from current technology.
