Locals and tourists can beat the weekend traffic snarl in the heart of this historic city by taking the state’s newly-inaugurated river taxi on Malacca River.The taxi was introduced not for sightseeing but as an additional means of transport.The British-made 10m boat costing RM364,000 is equipped with twin 150hp engines and can accommodate 16 passengers. The fare is RM10 per trip and would be different for the island-hopping service that would be packaged with refreshments.
